Windows XP & Simple File Sharing
If the Windows XP operating system is installed on the remote computer, it is recommended to disable
«Simple File Sharing». Unfortunately, it is impossible to disable this option in Windows XP Home Edition so you will not be able to use the Windows NT security and remote installation with the help of the Windows NT security for computers running under Windows XP Home.
Also, for remote installation with the help of the Windows NT security system to function, it is necessary to set a password for the administrator account on the remote computer and use this very account during remote ROM-Server installation. If the password is empty, the ROM-Server installation program will not be able to pass authentication on the remote computer.
How to disable
«Simple File Sharing» in Windows XP Professional?
- Open «My Computer».
- Select «Tools -> Folder Options» in the main menu.
- After the «Folder Options» dialog box opens, switch to the «View» tab.

Simple File Sharing
- Clear the «Use simple file sharing» checkbox.
- Click «OK».
