Taskbar\window icon

Missing the icon in the window and taskbar.
Image

Custom icons would be nice, just like replacing the logo.bmp but with icon.ico (or icon1, icon2 for different sizes)

Additional customization would be better, such as:
Window title (my customers aren't going to be purchasing LiteManager, they don't care what program I use)
Web link (same as above, they only want to call me)
ID format (123-456-789 is easier to read than 123456789, even better reduce the digits to a smaller amount like 123-456 or give the NoIPServer options)
Include logo.bmp when using the MSI Configurator

Something like this:

Can this be disabled on the viewer? I close the server app on the client computer when finished instead of leaving it running for the customer to close.

Image
I don't want status polling, I don't want my computer or the client computer doing more work than needed. If a client needs me they'll turn on the program. If it's a server then it'll be on all the time, I don't need the program checking.

Image
This text should be editable. My client would've already downloaded and run my custom installer for the program, this makes it sound like they're installing the program again. If you want a standard type of warning that's fine, but don't say installing.
"LiteManager grants remote access, continue?" (I'd prefer self-branded Tec Remote)

Hi!
Something like this:

Yes, it is possible.

Add English.lg and logo.bmp beside to ROMServer.exe.
and icon.ico

In English.lg, add/edit strings in section

[TfmSupport]
Caption = Tec Remote
lbRemoteControl.Caption = Please call ted at 888-555-1234 for support
lbSite.Caption = TecSupport.biz

I already do the Pack for you, just download the files

Additional customization would be better, such as:
Window title (my customers aren't going to be purchasing LiteManager, they don't care what program I use)

Done, above

Yes, it is possible, but without dashes.
ROMServer_R6.exe (new for 4821)

Without dashes because ID can be a word or letters, any text. For example User name, it is more convenient to remember

Include logo.bmp when using the MSI Configurator

sorry, it is impossible. You can make your own installer. For example use bat file.

"LiteManager grants remote access, continue?" (I'd prefer self-branded Tec Remote)

Text is hardcoded, because some users can change it and use as Trojan, for example 'It is browser update, continue?'
We change text to this
The LiteManager remote support is running/installing on your computer.
LiteManager grants remote access, continue?

Don't worry, this option only for active connection. Offline connections is not checking,

Yes,

Thank you for the quick response!

I've created two different packages, "LMClient" for users that will run the program only when needed (Helpdesk mode) and "LMServer" for machines that need 24/7 access.

For testing LMServer install purposes I created a batch file:
regedit /s config.reg
romserver /silentinstall
romserver /firewall
romserver /start
romserver /PASSWORD:xxxxxxxx

UAC (User Account Control) happens every step of the way. I think I might be able to get around this with an exe installer.
"/silentinstall" isn't silent, user is prompted about the program. Likely just terminology between us. This is where I'd have it say something like "Installing remote services...".
"/PASSWORD" hangs, but works correctly. As soon as a connection is made the DOS window exits, until then the window waits.

English.LG
"fm_settings_unable_read_configuration = Can not read service..." Can not = Cannot
"fm_security_empty_pass_does_not_allowed = Empty password does not allowed." does not = isn't
"fm_options_file_exist = File already exists, rewrite file?" rewrite = overwrite
There may be more but work is calling me. Thank you for your time and attention.

Add English.lg and logo.bmp beside to ROMServer.exe. and icon.ico

Image

One of the additional files in my ROMServer folder is causing the icon to not work. These are files listed on your site, though I'm thinking not all are necessary or are out-of-date. I also now understand the ID is located in the Config.xml or Config.reg, so copying the LMClient folder from my test computer to another computer shows a brief error about the ID. Neither file is editable to remove the name.

In English.lg, add/edit strings in section

[TfmSupport]
Caption = Tec Remote
lbRemoteControl.Caption = Please call ted at 888-555-1234 for support
lbSite.Caption = TecSupport.biz

"lbRemoteControl.Caption" should be center aligned for professional looks.
"lbSite.Caption" looks nice, the same problem as the icon, one of the additional files is causing it to go to http://litemanager.com.

-----------

ID format (123-456-789 is easier to read than 123456789, even better reduce the digits to a smaller amount like 123-456 or give the NoIPServer options)

Yes, it is possible, but without dashes.
ROMServer_R6.exe (new for 4821)

Without dashes because ID can be a word or letters, any text. For example User name, it is more convenient to remember

You mean all random ID's will now be shorter? If so, thank you. If not then I don't understand how I'm supposed to give users an ID. I don't want Computer Name as some are very difficult for people to read over the phone. I was hoping for options in the NoIP server so I can designate the range or values of ID's. I don't want to manually assign ID's to each user, incremental numbers have been working fine in other programs.

I've created two different packages, "LMClient" for users that will run the program only when needed (Helpdesk mode) and "LMServer" for machines that need 24/7 access.

Now I fully anderstand your situation, before I thought that you use only QuickSupport mode (HelpDesk)

UAC (User Account Control) happens every step of the way. I think I might be able to get around this with an exe installer.

Yes, windows limitation.

"/silentinstall" isn't silent, user is prompted about the program. Likely just terminology between us. This is where I'd have it say something like "Installing remote services...".

Yes, antiviruses require it from us, because silent install very dangerous for users

"/PASSWORD" hangs, but works correctly. As soon as a connection is made the DOS window exits, until then the window waits.

I think you must combine /start and /password, something like this
romserver /start /PASSWORD:xxxxxxxx
Or define password in the settings in config.reg file, "Pwd" key/value.

Thank you very much! We will be very glad yours for help.
We can give you a license key.

2.
ok, it's my mistake, I forget to send you the ROMFusClient.exe file, it is need for full package. (ROMSever.exe was updated too)
http://litemanager.com/bug_test/ROMServer2.zip

Replace files in the folder and its should work.

I also now understand the ID is located in the Config.xml or Config.reg, so copying the LMClient folder from my test computer to another computer shows a brief error about the ID. Neither file is editable to remove the name.

After this package can be sent to remote user, when ROMSever starting work it will generate new ID with 6 numbers

We have plan to create QuickSupport (HelpDesk) Constructor in new version, it will generate QuickSupport package with the specific settings via user friendly interface.

And be careful when use QuickSupport mode in full package, when user close the support window, LiteManager will be stopped.
In this case you can use other option
Show connect by ID window
and define permanent password for all servers.

That's awesome! Great customer service you guys are providing.

I should point out "cannot" is the more formal version of "can't", depending on context. If it's an obscure subject, for example an error message that won't likely ever be seen, then "can't" is fine. Otherwise "cannot" will serve better to show professionalism.

Also "do not" and "don't" aren't always interchangeable and "isn't" doesn't always replace "does not". In English, don't is used when speaking in the first and second person plural and singular and the third person plural ("I," "you," "we," and "they"). Doesn't is used when speaking in the third person singular only ("he," "she," and "it").
fm_security_password_must_be_same = Confirmed password does not match original. <-- correct (though it could be "doesn't" but I prefer "does not" when making a point)
fm_security_empty_pass_does_not_allowed = Empty password does not allowed. <-- incorrect (should be "isn't")

Other items.
fm_security_click_to_set_pass = Click on this button to set the password. Too wordy. "Set password"
fm_security_fill_this_fields = Fill this fields, please. Singular "Please fill this field.", plural (multiple fields) "Please fill these fields."
connect_notification_user_connected_to_desktop = Some remote user was connected to the desktop. Too wordy. "Remote user %s was connected."
log_access_denied = Password is incorrect or error occurs. Past tense should be "occurred".
log_tickets_use_noip = Tickets is use NOIP sync. "is" is redundant. "Tickets use NoIP sync."
log_tickets_disabled = Tickets is not enabled. "is" is redundant.
Image "Stopped"

There's much more to read through, some items are subjective. Something I'd suggest is having user customizations in a separate file other than English.lg. If the user upgrades the program with a new LG file all those customizations will be lost. A single file with all the fields you'd want the user to be able to change should be easy enough. Just like logo.bmp or icon.ico, if the file doesn't exist it uses the defaults.

Yes, perfect, thanks!

Exactly what I was looking for! Easy to read and remember.

Can the icons be changed for 24/7 Server mode?

Looking very nice. How about center aligning the "lbRemoteControl.Caption"?

Most clients want to see the remote window go away when I'm finished accessing their computer, knowing that I can't access their computer without their consent. Having a random password for these users is perfect, gives them another layer of security. My job is not just to fix their computer, it's to make them happy and feel confident in calling me again. Remote programs like this have been both a blessing and a curse - the amount of time needed to help customers has dropped dramatically, but my income from fixing issues quickly has dropped just as much :-( It was nice many years ago when I could drive to a job, spend 5 or 10 minutes doing something and charge $65. Those days are gone!
